    Android Screen Capture (HD)

    Due to popular demand, I have made an Android screen capture video tutorial. I recorded it in HD to give you all the best quality possible. With the Android being released in different countries and definitely due to the fact that the price of the G1 has dropped, I'm sure more blogs and websites will be up and delivery high quality Android news. So, people are going to want to take screen shots of apps in order to do detailed reviews. In that honor, I tried to make the video tutorial as quick and easy as I possibly could. It's my first of many tutorials so please leave me some feedback on what did you think of it and if it was helpful. Enjoy!

    I tried this with the HTC Magic, but it didn't work. Who can help me?

    FYI... found this on google, but was looking for directions for Ubuntu.. figured I'd post what I found here.

    Similar to as described..

    download and unzip SDK.
    in SDK folder,
    $ cd tools
    $ sudo ./adb start-server
    $ ./ddms

    once ddms starts, Ctrl + S.. and there you go..

    the mistake I was making (and hence the google search which brought me here) was that I was not issuing the start-server command w/ sudo. my device would show up in ddms as ??????. the console would give an error about insufficient privileges on the device. once I tried that, everything works great.

    cheers,
    Dan
